Self Statement by Visual Artist Subrata Malakar -
I am Subrata Malakar from the old and famous city of Kolkata, India. I was passed out in first class (B.V.A) in the department of western-style from the Government College of arts and crafts from Kolkata. I love working with all mediums like oil paint, acrylic paint, mix media, tempera, and watercolor etc., but lately, I do watercolor work on paper. There are different types of paper available in the market but I prefer Fabriano 300 gsm cold press paper.
I am an Impressionist artist and the subject of my painting is the city of Kolkata, Banaras Ghat and many old heritage sites and cities. I like to work up fast brush strokes. Watercolor medium is very challenging and interesting.
