Artist Statement -
I am the artist Subhash Joshi, and I have been active in the field of art for the past 43 years. I was in the 2nd grade when I first attempted to paint, and since then, my interest and skill in art have grown. After enrolling in art college in 1981, I found myself in a happy state as an artist, and I worked hard to establish my identity in this field.
I have tried to use vibrant colors like electric sparks in my paintings to make them lively and enduring. I have endeavored to bring alive the thoughts and emotions depicted in my paintings, creating emotional resonance with the viewers. The main aim of my artworks is to make people understand the importance of moral values and traditions, inspiring them to lead their lives towards excellence.
I have experienced new dimensions in painting, using vibrant colors and new forms. My first solo exhibition was held at Rama International in Aurangabad, where art enthusiasts praised my work. My artworks have been sold in Singapore, Japan, and Pune's art houses. After that, I worked in many other series like "Dance Series," "Gautam Buddha," and "Lord Ganesha," which reflect successful experiences in art.
In the "Moods of Ladies" series, I have depicted various emotions of women, reflecting their daily lives and future dreams. In the "Colors Rain" series, I have portrayed joy and camaraderie with colors. In the "Musician Lady" series, I have portrayed women as musicians, highlighting their musical performances.
The “Musician lady” painting series had a specific purpose behind its creation. In Hinduism, where goddesses are revered as embodiments of power and women are seen as manifestations of divinity, women are also symbols of beauty. In today's evolving landscape, where women are making strides in every sphere alongside men, there is a need to encourage them to explore playing musical instruments. Through this series, I have tried to evoke feelings of joy in both the eyes and ears.
I am currently working on another series based on bullock carts. All our basic necessities are dependent on the hard work of farmers. I express this through my art.
"This was my journey of art and my perspective towards it! I, the artist Subhash Joshi, extend my gratitude to all of you; you are all sources of inspiration for me. Sending much love and affection to all art enthusiasts!"
