Born in 1954, Pradip Sarkar discovered a passion for art at an early age. His first painting was exhibited and sold in 1960 at the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts. The proceeds from this sale, a modest ?10, were donated to support Indian soldiers during the conflict with China—a testament to his patriotism and compassion.
In 1973, Pradip Sarkar gained admission to the Government College of Art & Craft, where he honed his skills and graduated in 1978, earning a Certificate of Merit award for his exceptional work.
Over the years, he has showcased his art through exhibitions across major cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Vadodara, Mumbai, and Chennai, gaining recognition both in India and abroad. His works, characterized by their contemporary expression and mastery of printmaking techniques, have found homes with art collectors worldwide.
Today, Pradip Sarkar continues to pursue his craft with unwavering passion and dedication, creating works that resonate with art enthusiasts and collectors alike.
