Meenaketan Pattnaik is a Bhubaneswar-based figurative artist and senior faculty member at B. K. College of Art & Crafts, Odisha. With a career spanning over three decades, he is renowned for his artistic exploration of themes ranging from youth psychology and contemporary social emotions to current affairs and cultural sociology. His rhythmic brushstrokes, unsullied colors, and dramatic compositions create captivating visual narratives. Known as the "Monkey Man" for his iconic monkey series painted from 1990 to 2012, he is now focused on a series reflecting youth psychology.
 

  • At Present Meenaketan Pattnaik is working as a senior faculty member of Design in the Department of Applied Art at B.K. College of Art & Crafts (Government of Odisha), Bhubaneswar, since 1999.
  • His articles on Art and Aesthetics have been published in prominent Odia dailies, e-journals, cultural periodicals, UGC Care-listed research publications, and various art publications since 1992.
  • He has curated numerous selective group art exhibitions both in Odisha and outside the state.
  • He has been associated with the Artists Association of Odisha (AAO), one of the oldest active non-government organizations dedicated to the visual art sector of Odisha. He served as the first Secretary of AAO in 1990 and is currently serving as an Adviser to the association since 2017.
  • He became a Member of the Board of Studies for the Indic Studies (Visual Art Department) at Sri Sri University, Cuttack, in 2019.
  • He has been appointed as a Member of the National Board of Editors for the international art e-journal of IAMartist Online Art Gallery, Bhubaneswar, since 2020.
