About the Artist
Born in 1982 in West Bengal and raised in Jharkhand, India, Monalisa draws deep inspiration from the lush landscapes and tranquil beauty of nature that surrounded her during childhood. Her artistic journey reflects a strong connection to the natural world, often exploring the intimate relationships between humans, animals, and nature itself.
Her unique style merges elements of Impressionism, Classicism, and Romanticism, evoking the timeless appeal of old masters. Through her work, she beautifully captures the ongoing performance of life and the constancy of human emotions. Each painting tells a rich story, conveying intricate bonds of love, relationships, and the hopeful, positive aspects of life. A central theme in her art is her profound affection for nature and animals, which brings a sense of nostalgic warmth, reminiscent of her early years.
Over the past two decades, [Artist's Name] has exhibited her work in numerous art shows, earning recognition for her distinctive approach. Her passion for texture, composition, and color shines through in her pieces, with soft acrylic brushstrokes creating a striking contrast against clear depictions of her subjects. In addition to working with acrylics, she enjoys experimenting with charcoal, as well as drawing with pencil, charcoal, and pen ink, further showcasing her versatility.
Artist's Statement:
From a young age, I have felt a deep connection to the world of arts and crafts. Initially, my passion went unnoticed by my parents, so I would often create drawings in the soil with sticks. This childhood curiosity eventually led me to formal training at the Jamshedpur School of Art, marking the beginning of my artistic journey. Over time, I went on to earn the prestigious Ankan Ratna title.
I have a special affinity for creating art with charcoal and acrylics, as these mediums allow me to express my emotions and creativity most freely. My art is an exploration of the intangible, and my ultimate goal is to bring to life the “Color of Dreams” on canvas, capturing the essence of hope, beauty, and emotion in every stroke.
