This is a Madhubani folk art
Madhubani Painting or Mithila Painting is the most ancient traditional art in India. It is said that it was first drawn on the wall during the marriage of Lord Shri Ram with Goddess Sita in Mithila, which is the birthplace of Sita. That is why it is called Mithila Traditional Art. But the artists who first drew this painting were from the Madhubani (Bihar) district of Mithila. Therefore it is called Madhubani Painting.
This is the scene of romance between God of Love Shri Krishna and Goddess of Love Goddess Radha in the forest of Vrindavan (nearby birthplace of Shri Krishna – Mathura) called Nidhivan. Lord Shri Krishna was the avatar of Lord Shri Vishnu and Goddess Radha was the avatar of Goddess Shri Laxmi. They loved each other so much that they become ideal for all lovers and couples.
