Saroj Basu is the artist who lets his feelings flow on the canvas freely and when it comes to subtly captivate the elusiveness of the human expressions whilst conveying the most inertly desires shielded within the hearts of people, he very maturely uses the oil paints to do the same.

He is a very senior and experienced contemporary artist was born in 1953 at Ichapur, 24 Parganas (North), West Bengal moving ahead to achieve a Diploma in Fine Arts & Modelling & sculpture in the year 1979 and 1981 respectively from Govt. College of Art and Craft, Calcutta. Not trying to limit his talent to himself he did a Teachers training art appreciation course from Calcutta University.

Previously he Passed B.A from Calcutta University and worked under the auspicious guidance of Prof. Ashes Mitra of G.C.A.C., Calcutta for several years.
